AusTender provides you with the freedom to explore Government procurement, and contains information that can be used to search for new opportunities, find out who has been awarded Contracts and watch for future Business Opportunities.
If you are new to doing business with the Government, useful information is available at the Selling to Government or Business.gov.au websites.
Business Opportunities are published as Approaches to Market (ATMs). ATMs are open for potential suppliers to participate and include requests for tender, requests for quote, expressions of interest, or proposals.
Enquiries relating to a specific Business Opportunity should be directed to the Contact Officer.
The nominated Contact Officer details are included on the relevant opportunity and attached documentation.
Preparation is key. Don't leave lodging a Tender Response to the last minute.

Further clarification is available at: Responding to an approach to market
Details are specific to each Business Opportunity, response requirements can be found on the AusTender opportunity and within the relevant documentation.
Further information on the tender lodgement process is available at Lodge a Tender Response.
Lodgement receipts are automatically displayed on screen and a confirmation email is sent to confirm the opportunity which was responded to.
Standing Offers and Panels published on AusTender are established and periodically refreshed through a Business Opportunity.
Contact Officer details are included on each Standing Offer and can be found using the Standing Offer Search below.
A Panel arrangement, also commonly referred to as a Standing Offer, is a tool for the procurement of goods and/or services regularly acquired by entities.
In a Panel arrangement one or more suppliers have been appointed to supply identified goods or services for a set period of time under pre-determined terms and conditions, including a basis for pricing.
To be listed on a Standing Offer you must submit a Tender Response for evaluation and, if successful you can then be included on the arrangement when the Standing Offer is established or refreshed.
Once the Panel is established, additional suppliers can only be added to the Panel if it is established as a refreshable arrangement.
If you have any questions relating to a specific Standing Offer you can get in touch with the agency responsible via the Standing Offer contact details.
A Contract Notice (CN) is reported on AusTender as a result of a contract being awarded following a tender process. Most Australian Government agencies publish contracts that are valued at or above $10,000 (inc. GST). A CN displays details about the procurement process, and details about the contract including the contract period, value and the supplier.
A contract is an agreement which may result in a financial obligation.
Expenditure is where an invoice is paid.
Contract value reported on AusTender is not expenditure.
